The Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Internship Programme was first run in 1991 and has run annually since then in order to:
Provide outstanding Ukrainian university students from all walks of life the opportunity to experience Canada's democratic system of government
Give participants an opportunity to work alongside Members of Parliament and their staff from both sides of the House of Commons
Build participants' knowledge of Canada's political system so that they can take this back to Ukraine
Enable participants to get to know Canada and maintain the links of friendship that exist between Canada and Ukraine
The Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Program is an internship program, established by the Ukrainian Canadians in Canada, which provides an opportunity for Ukrainian students to learn about the principles of democratic government and parliamentary procedures of Canada. During the Program, Ukrainian students work at the Parliamnet of Canada in the offices of Members of the House of Commons.
