On September 17, 2014, President Petro Poroshenko addressed the Parliament of Canada, to a joint sitting of the House of Commons and the Senate. President Poroshenko at the 30 minute juncture of his address referred to the Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Program (CUPP) and thanked Canada. Slava Ukraini was repeated by several speakers in the concluding remarks.

CUPP is a parliamentary Internship Program established in 1991 with the approval of the Speaker of the House of Commons. The program has been supported by the Ukrainian Diaspora in Canada and the USA. Regretfully the Endowment Fund which sustained the CUPP Program will be exhausted in 2015 and after 25 years the CUPP program which has received recognition by Members of Parliament and political scientists may come to an end unless new funding is found for the program. The Program's founder and only director Ihor Bardyn is doing his best to secure funding for the program for another 25 years. CUPP Alumni are campaigning to establish a new Endowment Fund.
